Menopause is a tough time and for many women a very unwelcome distraction in a busy life. There are countless products on the market claiming to aid menopausal side effects and most boast all natural ingredients in some form of combined pill. Macafem on the other hand only has one ingredient, reducing the risks of reactions and side effects to a list of other ingredients and hopefully maintaining the potency of other products. The active ingredient in macafen is maca. The key problem during menopause is the hormonal imbalance in the body. At this stage in a woman's life the body is moving from being fertile which means the reproductive system is changing drastically. Once menopause is over the body finds its new balance without reproductivity but during the transition the hormones such as estrogen and progesterone fluctuate substantially. Maca is said to aid this hormonal imbalance bringing the body back to a normal level whilst allowing menopausal process to continue unaffected. Maca is a plant of the radish family and is considered an endocrine adaptogen. This means that it causes an effect that regulates endorcrine support in the body. The glands in the endorcrine system produce chemical messengers (hormones). Maca effectively helps these glands to produce the hormones they need to keep the body at a stable level. Maca itself does not contain hormones, it merely induces the production process in the glands. As well as being an effective hormone balancing supplement, maca is also great for the bones, skin and teeth. It is also used to improve physical endurance, which is also useful during menopause to keep the body healthy and to fight the symptoms. Maca's other use during menopause is to replenish a dwindling sex drive. This is said to be effective in both men and women but one key side effect during menopause and the hormone shift that goes with it, is a confusing decrease in libido. At the same time maca is said to reduce tiredness, another pesky symptom in menopause. Maca has many uses during menopause and tackles most symptoms either directly or indirectly. It should be taken daily and for an extended period of time to feel its full effects. Overall a natural supplement can really help with a wide variety of symptoms but it is always a good idea to first consult your doctor. MENOPAUSE HELP GREEN TEA

Beauty secrets for older womenHome » Women's Interests » Menopause HRT Join Sign in EzineArticles - Expert Authors Sharing Their Best Original Articles Search Tony Lajuan Alexander Platinum Quality Author Platinum Author | 75 Articles Joined: February 19, 2011 Japan Green Tea and Menopause - Benefits of Green Tea By Tony Lajuan Alexander | Submitted On February 05, 2013 Recommend Article Article Comments Print Article Expert Author Tony Lajuan Alexander The benefits of drinking green tea are well documented in Asia, North America, and Europe. Here in Japan the tea of choice is Gokurotea, which is regarded as the highest standard of tea you can buy in Japan. Tea comes in a variety of different forms and grades, each with its own benefits. Most Japanese teas have antioxidant properties that not only fight against aging, but also cancer. Studies have shown that regular consumption of tea can reduce chances of breast cancer in women in high risk groups. The Japanese have been drinking tea for centuries and as a result have been enjoying some of the longest life expectancies in the world. Now, when it comes to menopause green tea is one of the best options available. Tea reduces hot flashes and it increases your energy so that you feel less fatigue. Green tea also alleviates many of the other discomforts associated with menopause and aging, such as stress and disorientation. When brewing green tea you should be very careful about the temperature of the teapot and cup. The cup and teapot need to be at the same temperature. Remember, one pouring per steeping. Never just let water remain and become cold. How Gyokuro is brewed is quite different from other sencha. The greatest appellation attached to this tea is called Yame, a small town in Fukuoka, Japan where more than 40% of Gyokuro is produced. If you want to enjoy eating green tea then a simple recipe is at the bottom. Enjoy. Tea Tempura Recipe: Ingredients 1) Picked green tea (cut into halves) 2) Dried shrimp As much as you like. 3) Onion 1/2 4) Flour 1 cup. 5) Cold water 1 cup 6) Cooking oil: a lot (1/2 a pan) How to cook: 1) Thinly slice the onion 2) Make batter: mix cold water and flour. 3) Mix batter, tea shrimp and onion. 4) Ladle out 3, and dip into cooking oil slowly (pre-heated to 170 degrees C / 340 degrees F 5) When it floats, poke it with long chopsticks several times to sink it (*don't flip it over!). Cooking Hint - To produce a crispy finish 1) Check the oil temperature 2) Don't over-beat the batter mix 3) Fry only enough at one time to cover about half the surface of oil in order to allow the ingredients to move freely. 4) It is important to keep the oil temperature constant while frying. 5) Use flour (not flour for bread). In Japan, they sell special flour for tempura, it is easy to deep-fry. LASER THERAPY PROS AND CONS

Beauty secrets for older womenHome » Women's Interests » Cosmetic Surgery Join Sign in EzineArticles - Expert Authors Sharing Their Best Original Articles Search Dr. Janna Maher Platinum Quality Author Platinum Author | 28 Articles Joined: September 7, 2015 United States IPL Laser Therapy: Learn the Pros and Cons of IPL Laser Therapy By Dr. Janna Maher | Submitted On August 03, 2016 Recommend Article Article Comments Print Article Expert Author Dr. Janna Maher Without question lasers and various light-emitting devices can help reduce signs of aging and fade signs of sun damage. With so many IPL laser procedures available, knowing the basics about each is essential to making the best decision for your concerns. A Complicated Topic The topic of lasers, intense pulse light (IPL), or other forms of skin resurfacing is complicated. If you've been doing your homework, you've probably found a clutter of complex, technical information that is hard to decipher. Deciding which IPL laser or light treatment to get can be further complicated by marketers making unrealistic claims and promises. So, it's important to find a dermatologist who is clear about the pros and cons-and about the improvements you can expect to see. Two Types of Procedures Lasers and IPL laser treatments are either ablative or non-ablative. Non-ablative treatments target the lower layers of skin, while ablative treatments target both the surface and the lower layers of skin. The system you choose depends on the results you are looking for and how much risk you are willing to take. Ablative lasers can: make a significant difference in the appearance of wrinkles, significantly fade skin discolorations, erase years of sun damage by replacing damaged skin with healthier skin. Risks from ablative procedures include: swelling, scabbing, oozing, bleeding, flaking, redness, significant irritation that requires a longer time to heal, and long-term skin discoloration and scarring. After ablative laser treatment, the skin oozes, bleeds, and crusts. It takes about two weeks before you'll look even vaguely normal. If you chose an ablative treatment, follow post-op care instructions carefully. Inconsistency or incomplete care can cause infection, delay healing, and increase irritation. Non-ablative resurfacing such as IPL laser therapy has none of the side effects associated with ablative resurfacing. However, it doesn't produce the same dramatic results as ablative resurfacing does. And multiple treatments are required for the most noticeable outcome. The advantage for non-ablative resurfacing is its minimal downtime. Non-ablative lasers can: remove some skin discolorations, improve and potentially eliminate redness, improve minor wrinkles and fine lines, and stimulate collagen production after repeated treatments. Risks from non-ablative procedures include: swelling and potential bruising, a sunburn-like reaction, temporary darkening of treated spots. There Isn't a Best Laser Despite what you're likely to hear, there isn't a best laser or IPL laser treatment for everyone. Which one is used depends on several factors, including your concerns as well as efficacy and safety of the treatment. There isn't a single best laser or light-emitting treatment; rather, there are several options and each has its pros and cons. Regardless of the device you and your dermatologist choose, be sure that you're fully informed on what to expect and what is required of you before and after the procedure. And of course, none of these treatments will provide great results if you're not diligent about using a great skin-care routine that includes daily sun protection! HOW DERMAL FILLERS WORK

Beauty secrets for older womenHome » Women's Interests » Cosmetic Surgery Join Sign in EzineArticles - Expert Authors Sharing Their Best Original Articles Search Dr. Janna Maher Platinum Quality Author Platinum Author | 28 Articles Joined: September 7, 2015 United States Dermal Fillers: Learn How Dermal Fillers Work By Dr. Janna Maher | Submitted On August 03, 2016 Recommend Article Article Comments Print Article Expert Author Dr. Janna Maher Chances are you have a basic understanding of what dermal fillers are and what they do, but you may still have questions about how they work, how long they last, and when you should use them. What Dermal Fillers Fix Fillers can be used to fix a variety of concerns related to facial aging, including: Smoothing out deep creases from the nose to the mouth often called laugh lines or parentheses, Plumping thin lips and smoothing vertical lines around the edges of the lips, Enhancing the fullness of cheeks, Filling out hollows under the eye area, and Evening out scars, How Dermal Fillers Work Dermal fillers are directly injected into skin with the purpose of plumping that area to the point where the wrinkle, depression, or fold is gone. Depending on the type of filler, the effects can last anywhere from six months to two years. Risks from Dermal Fillers After all is said and done, the major issue for fillers is one of longevity, followed by risk of migration and lumping, and ultimately the skill of the doctor in placing the right amount of filler in exactly the right place. There is a learning curve to injection techniques. That means you need to find a doctor who has been injecting them for some time, and who has loads of experience, preferably with more than one type of filler. Is there a Best Dermal Filler? Despite what you might have read or heard, there really isn't a best dermal filler; all of them have risks. Which filler substance is considered "best" or "preferred" depends on the doctor's technique, skill, experience, training, your facial needs, and risk tolerance. It has nothing to do with headlines in the media or articles in fashion magazines. It's important to realize that over the past 20 years many of these products that were once showcased in fashion magazines or touted by doctors have since been discontinued for a variety of reasons. Getting headlines doesn't always make for beautiful results! When to Get Dermal Fillers There are many reasons to consider a filler to correct signs of aging that are beyond what skincare products can do. It's not that great skincare can't make a huge difference in the appearance of your skin, but age, muscle movement, fat loss, gravity, and sun damage among other factors will eventually take their toll. Without question, fillers can help improve the appearance of deep lines and give skin a more supple, youthful appearance in ways that skincare simply cannot. If you're considering a filler, the next step is to consult with your dermatologist to figure out which type is right for you. As with any cosmetic corrective procedure, you still need to use well-formulated skincare products and sun protection (even when it's cloudy) as part of the anti-aging package that will keep your skin looking younger and healthier for a very long time!
