HOLISTIC SKINCARE

Beauty secrets for older womenHome » Women's Interests » Beauty Products Join Sign in EzineArticles - Expert Authors Sharing Their Best Original Articles Search Jon Canas Basic PLUS Author | 9 Articles Joined: July 27, 2016 United States What Really Is Holistic Skincare? By Jon Canas | Submitted On September 03, 2016 Recommend Article Article Comments Print Article Expert Author Jon Canas What is meant by "holistic" as far as skincare is concerned? The American Heritage Dictionary gives the following definition of 'holistic:' "emphasizing the importance of the whole and the interdependence of the parts. In other words, the body cannot be looked at as a collection of isolated parts-visible and invisible/outer and inner-but as a whole entity where everything is interdependent. This particularly translates in the fact that our skin is affected by whatever is going on within our body, both physiologically and psychologically. Now, how is that possible? The full answer to this question can only be found in the principles of energetic medicines, of which Ayurveda from India and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) are great exemplars. All energy medicines have a common premise: the body is not simply matter, but matter and vital energy. It is vital energy that makes matter vital. Ayurveda and TCM provide detailed explanations of how this very subtle but essential vital energy is gathered by the body, stored and redistributed to all parts of the body according to chakras (energetic centers) and acupuncture meridians and along set pathways. It is the constant flow of vital energy throughout the body that keeps all of the body parts (organs, glands, tissues, etc.) connected by a flow of information that travels with vital energy, in the same way as radio waves bring music or voices to your radio station, whether stationary at home, or traveling in a car. Another fundamental premise of all energy medicines is the requirement for vital energy to flow without any blockage. Vital energy-based treatments are always about ensuring a proper flow of vital energy and removing any potential blockage. The major differences among the various energy medicines are in their preferred approaches to ensure that our vital energy is free-flowing. The myriad of interconnections between our skin and all other parts of the body makes of our skin not only an organ, but a reflexive organ. Indeed, the skin will react in predictable and generally visible ways to any variance from the norm as far as the inner parts of the body are concerned. In fact, it is this property that allows for the treatments known as "reflexology*"-the modality that consists of working on certain parts of the body each of which connect to particular major functions of the body-for the sake of removing potential energy blockages within the body. The most common reflexology practice is the massage of the bottom of feet, but the same can be done on other parts of the body, in particular, the face. The face is particularly interesting from a holistic point of view as it includes reflex zones where each is energetically connected to specific physiological functions corresponding to ten pairs of organs and the hormonal system. The premise of holistic skincare is particularly well served by energetic skincare products. Certainly, the application of energetic products which include high-grade natural essential oils with energy balancing properties results in an immensely important by-product to facials. This action provides energy balancing as a superior reflexology treatment added to the benefits of the facial. The same products can also be used on the other reflex zones of the body and scalp. Energetic skincare is the most holistic skincare possible, but for greater benefits, it deserves to be supported by other activities that are part of a conscious living lifestyle. * Reflexology: a system of massage used to relieve tension and treat illness, based on the theory that there are reflex points on the feet, hands, and head linked to every part of the body. HOW COLLAGEN REPAIRS THE BODY

Beauty secrets for older womenHome » Health and Fitness » Anti Aging Join Sign in EzineArticles - Expert Authors Sharing Their Best Original Articles Search Joseph Ahern Basic PLUS Author | 27 Articles Joined: January 6, 2009 United States 6 Ways Collagen Does Your Body Good By Joseph Ahern | Submitted On August 25, 2016 Recommend Article Article Comments Print Article Expert Author Joseph Ahern Collagen plays an important role in the growth, health, and physical maintenance of our body. Collagen is the main structural protein in connective tissue as found in ligaments and tendons. However collagen can have a positive impact on your other elements of your body in addition to tendons and ligaments. For example, collagen is the elastic tissue that gives our skin its tautness. Read more to discover the rejuvenating benefits collagen supplements can have on your skin hair, nails, and more! Swallowing the Truth Almost all of us are familiar with the collagen treatments that are a staple of Hollywood star's beauty routine and a go-to for those of us 'regular' people to help bring vitality back into our aging skin. What you may not know is that injections are not the only way to incorporate collagen into your body and in fact isn't even the most effective. While injections can provide temporarily pleasing results, even the best surgical procedures after need to be maintained on a yearly or less basis. By choosing to ingest natural collagen products you are not just "repainting the house", you are remodeling it from the inside out! Here are the 6 benefits of Collagen: 1) Skin - As we age our production of collagen begins to slow, and by the time we are in our 30's the collagen proteins that hold our skin taunt begin to lose their luster. Collagen supplements help the body repair its own tissue naturally, giving your skin a glow and freshness from the inside out. 2) Digestion - You may not realize, but collagen plays an important role in our digestion. Not only does it help repair the lining of the stomach, but collagen is actually very hydrophilic, meaning it attracts moisture easily, aiding in the direction of stomach acids leading to a smoother digestive process. 3) Hair - Yes, even your hair can benefit from natural collagen supplements. Containing important amino acids and proteins, these supplements can help restore hair to health and vitality by increasing the amount of acids and proteins needed for healthy growth. 4) Flexibility - Surprised at this one? Don't be! Our joints are able to move thanks to rubber like bands in our bodies called tendons and ligaments. As we age, the elastin weakens and these "rubber bands" lose their elasticity. Collagen ingestion helps restore the proteins needed to create stronger, more flexible tissue. 5) Pump Up Your Energy - Did you know that glycine is a major component of collagen supplements? Glycine stimulates your system to pump more sugar into the bloodstream - and this in turn encourages muscle mass building, which in turn increases your energy levels. 6) Strengthens Fingernails - You may be surprised to discover that fingernails are also affected by collagen supplements, but in fact it makes perfect sense. Glycine and proline can be considered the building blocks of healthy nail tissue, and incorporating more collagen supplements into your diet helps replenish levels which have diminished from aging. While collagen is not a cure-all that will completely turn back the hands of time, it does provide many of the essential amino-acids we lose naturally as we grow older which enable the body to repair itself in ways it could never achieve without the added boost from supplements. While you can't stop time, integrating collagen supplements into your daily routine can certainly help to slow it down, and give you energy to live, work, play, and look your best in the interim. DERMAL FILLER QUESTIONS

Beauty secrets for older womenHome » Women's Interests » Cosmetic Surgery Join Sign in EzineArticles - Expert Authors Sharing Their Best Original Articles Search Delia Focil Basic PLUS Author | 21 Articles Joined: March 21, 2016 United States Common Questions About This Cosmetic Procedure By Delia Focil | Submitted On January 18, 2017 Recommend Article Article Comments Print Article Many people have heard of derma fillers but they aren't sure if it is right for them. They have many questions. It isn't a good idea to go through with this type of procedure unless you have the facts. There can be benefits but there are also risks. You have to decide where you stand on it. The most common reason people look into derma fillers is to help them slow down the aging process. No one wants to look in the mirror and see fine lines, wrinkles, or skin that is sagging. Instead, they want to see a face they enjoy and they are confident about. Erasing those signs of aging can be done with this procedure. It is far less expensive and less risky than Botox and other similar procedures too. Your face isn't going to freeze up for a period of time after you get the procedure done. In fact, your face will look and feel natural. No one is going to know you just had derma fillers unless you choose to tell them! How Soon do you see Results? You will start to notice results as soon as you walk out of the office. They will continue to happen over a period of time. The changes will appear natural too and that is important. You want those around you to notice you have great looking skin and you are radiant, but not focus on what you are doing to make it happen! How Long Does it Take? The consultation for derma fillers can take up to one hour. Once you decide to go in for an appointment, it will take about 30 minutes. It depends on the provider and the methods they use. Many people schedule this on their lunch hour and then go right back to work without anyone knowing! It is quite rare for someone to have an allergic reaction to this type of injection but it does happen. Your provider may ask you to wait up to 30 minutes after the first injection is conducted. If you experience any signs of an allergy such as numbing, swelling, or color changes to the area they can take immediate action. Does it Hurt? While the procedure isn't painful, it can cause some discomfort to the injection area. It depends on the sensitivity of the skin and other factors. Some individuals want this procedure to reduce the signs of scars. That tissue area can be very sensitive so it may experience more pain. Sometimes a local anesthesia is used to prevent discomfort. It is almost always used when the injection will be around the lip region. This tends to be a tender area. The provider will discuss this with you to make sure you know what to expect. Cost of Services Almost all insurance providers consider derma fillers to be cosmetic and not necessary. As a result, they won't pay for those services and you will need to pay for them out of your own pocket. The cost can vary from one provider to the next. It is important to discuss the cost with them so you will know what you have to pay when you go to each of your visits. You also need to find out how many visits they anticipate you will need to see results. It depends on your skin and other variables. Each person will respond differently but the provider should be able to give you some indicator of what they anticipate. Most people will notice a difference with just one or two treatments of derma fillers annually though. About Us: We provide a relaxed, clean, and comfortable spa for you to obtain services at. HOW TO REDUCE CROWS FEET

Beauty secrets for older womenHome » Women's Interests » Beauty Products Join Sign in EzineArticles - Expert Authors Sharing Their Best Original Articles Search Dr. Janna Maher Platinum Quality Author Platinum Author | 28 Articles Joined: September 7, 2015 United States Reduce Crow's Feet: Learn Tips to Help You Reduce Crow's Feet By Dr. Janna Maher | Submitted On July 25, 2016 Recommend Article Article Comments Print Article Expert Author Dr. Janna Maher Crow's feet-those etched wrinkles that begin at the outer corner of the eye area and fan out-got their name due to the fact the pattern they form resembles, you guessed it, a crow's foot! Ironically, despite the fact that actual crow's feet have a distinct shape, the pattern that these wrinkles can take varies from person to person. Some eye area wrinkles are deeper, or more pronounced on others-and it doesn't always corroborate with age. Unlike fine lines, which tend to "plump up" and respond favorably to moisturizers, eye wrinkles are deeper and more apparent. Frustratingly, these wrinkles are visible even when you're not smiling or making other facial expressions. As a result, it is trickier to reduce crow's feet-but it can be done! How to Reduce Crow's Feet The number one thing you can do every day to help prevent them from getting worse is to apply a broad spectrum sunscreen around your eyes and face. Eye area wrinkles are largely caused by sun damage, which destroys skin-firming collagen and elastin. When it comes to choosing a sunscreen for the sensitive eye area, look for SPF products that contain the minerals titanium dioxide and/or zinc oxide. These are least likely to be sensitizing when applied around the eyes. It's also critical to use products that contain antioxidants, skin-repairing ingredients, and cell-communicating ingredients. These types of ingredients can work to reduce eye wrinkles. Of course, these beneficial anti-aging ingredients reduce other signs of aging too, like dark spots, uneven skin tone, and loss of firmness. Also applying an alpha or beta-hydroxy acid under eye area will work to improve skin texture, stimulate collagen production, and potentially improve sun-induced under eye discolorations. You may need to supplement your core routine with a treatment product specifically designed to improve wrinkles around the eyes. The key is making sure the products contain effective amounts of proven ingredients. Botox to Reduce Crow's Feet Eye area wrinkles can be stubborn to treat, and even with the best skincare, may not respond as fast as you'd like without some additional help. Despite all the benefits great skincare (including sun protection) can deliver, topical products have their limitations. That's where non-invasive (i.e., non-surgical) cosmetic corrective procedures come into play-by bridging the gap, they work with skincare to get you the best results. Among the procedures dermatologists use to get rid of eye area wrinkles, Botox is by far the most common. When properly injected around the eyes Botox can dramatically smooth crow's feet. The results from Botox can last between 3 to 6 months, however the cost is not inexpensive! Many people will find a great anti-aging skincare routine enough to outsmart crow's feet. With the right products, your eye area will look younger than you thought could be possible. And those crow's feet? They're for the birds! To learn more about how to reduce crow's feet click HERE. HALO ENGAGEMENT DIAMOND RING NEW FASHION

Beauty secrets for older womenHome » Shopping and Product Reviews » Jewelry Diamonds Join Sign in EzineArticles - Expert Authors Sharing Their Best Original Articles Search Roxy ML Basic Author | 2 Articles Joined: January 11, 2017 Spain Halo Engagement Rings: The New Trendsetter in the Market By Roxy ML | Submitted On January 16, 2017 Recommend Article Article Comments Print Article The halo effect in diamond engagement rings have led the solitaire wedding and engagement ring industry down a turn that was not taken before. Prior to this, solitaire princess cut and round cut diamond rings occupied the hearts and minds of the customers. Their beauty and brilliance paralleled none other artefacts that were brought into the showrooms with a figment of hope to counter their popularity. In fact, at one point, these rings sold so much that it rather offset the balance. However, since the launch of these pluperfect halo rings, the popularity of princess cut solitaires has been shadowed largely. So, along comes the era of eclipse rings. Another Halo Ring with a Colored Stone Rose gold is high in fashion these days. Luckily, you will find some designs in the halo ring section too. This one is a joy to the eyes. Set with a large square ruby at the center, this one is bordered with white diamonds around the edge. The soft cuts of the ring is a deviation from the classic rounded edging, but that seems the part of the plan. The band emerges in a straight line to a point from where it curves around to complete the circle. The linear slopes are beset with similar setting of Diamonds. You may alter that with diamonds if you like. The ruby on top can also be replaced with a sapphire stone of your choice. You can also choose to have a pink diamond as the center stone as it would be more relevant to the soft pink glow of rose gold. Floral Accent: A Halo Ring with a Difference Bloom and blush, though abstract, are somethings that only a pair of eyes can catch. If any qualifying word rounds up the aesthetics of this piece, then it would be both. The ring is of halo style as mentioned, but in an extremely beautiful floral design. The silhouette of the center cushion cut diamond is lined with smaller diamonds. Though the halo does not interrupt in concretizing the shape of the stone it purses, but four stones are strategically placed in the middle points to create a wonderful flowery appeal. The band is plain platinum with no interruptions of details. The smaller stones are held by micro paving while the larger ones and the center stone sit in prong brackets. The ring is unique in the truest sense. A Garland of Many Stones Most people will side with the opinion that the halo effect looks best when stones of a different shade is used to silhouette the center stone. It only makes the lining look more prominent. This one makes the best pic for those in agreement. A burning yellow sapphire stone on top with a string of white diamonds bordering it is a wonderful sight. The band has three diamonds on each side. You may want to try out a few different gemstones for better customization. All in all, this gold wedding ring is bold and is heavier than the above two. HOW TO GET RID OF DEEP LINES WITH DERMAL FILLERS

Beauty secrets for older womenHome » Health and Fitness » Anti Aging Join Sign in EzineArticles - Expert Authors Sharing Their Best Original Articles Search Mags Whyler Platinum Quality Author Platinum Author | 66 Articles Joined: December 30, 2015 United Kingdom Lose the Deep Facial Lines and Sunken Cheeks Using Dermal Filler Injections By Mags Whyler | Submitted On March 22, 2017 Recommend Article Article Comments Print Article Expert Author Mags Whyler Although both treatments involve injections, we shouldn't confuse dermal fillers with botox. Both get injected into the face, but where botox is used to stop muscle movement which results in wrinkles, we use fillers to add volume to the face. This involves placing the fillers in strategic places to lift the cheeks and jowls, give volume to the lips and fill deep lines. This treatment can improve your looks, enhance your profile and leave your face with a natural expression. Dermal fillers are a non-surgical treatment, used to plump up depressions in the skin. The main reason for depressions in the skin are wrinkles, lines and loss of volume caused by the ageing process. As we age, it is well-known that the skin loses its smoothness, and this happens because the body's natural levels of collagen reduce with age. This causes the skin to lose its shape and firmness, and this is a problem that dermal fillers can rectify. Examples of the use of dermal fillers: Marionette lines - these lines run from the corners of the mouth, down towards the chin, causing deep creases which lead to jowls or a poorly defined jaw line. These are often a result of volume loss in the upper and mid face, combined with the effects of gravity. Nasolabial lines - these are the deep lines from the nose to the mouth, where deep creasing can occur. Often these are a result of volume loss in the cheeks and temples. Cheek Augmentation - loss of volume in the cheeks flattens the mid face. Dermal fillers are an effective treatment that instantly adds volume to cheeks, giving an immediately more youthful appearance. Forehead wrinkles - Frown lines are the vertical lines between the eyebrows, and they are one of the most common signs of ageing. Dermal fillers are perfect for softening and minimizing the very deep lines which are visible, even when your forehead is at rest. Tear troughs - this treatment gives a natural filled out appearance, correcting the hollows beneath the eyes. Lip enhancement - dermal fillers will give your lips better definition, reduce lipstick bleed and will enhance thin, ageing or asymmetrical lips. Filler treatment is a perfect solution to give you fuller, healthier looking lips, reducing smoker's lines and lifting mouth corners. Dermal fillers work by plumping up the treated area and making it level with the rest of the skin, filling out any depressed areas such as wrinkles or sunken cheeks. A very fine needle injects the filler into the treatment area, which adds more structure and firmness to the face. Most people report only a slight discomfort when the dermal fillers get injected, so the treatment usually doesn't require an anaesthetic. After treatment, you can go straight back to your normal activities. The results are usually seen instantly and will last for around six to eight months. Benefits A non-invasive treatment with little downtime, so you can return to normal activities straight away. Reduction of lines and wrinkles to give a more youthful looking appearance. Will replenish lost volume for a softer more younger look Long lasting results. Do you need help choosing a cosmetic procedure?
