SMUDGE PROOF EYE MAKE-UP

Beauty secrets for older womenHome » Women's Interests » Beauty Products Join Sign in EzineArticles - Expert Authors Sharing Their Best Original Articles Search Cate Karley Basic Author | 3 Articles Joined: July 27, 2016 Kenya Smudge-Proof Eye Makeup Tips By Cate Karley | Submitted On September 20, 2016 Recommend Article Article Comments Print Article Carefully applied eye make-up can help draw attention and accentuate a woman's most prominent features. But smudged make-up will draw attention for all the wrong reasons. What are some easy ways to prevent eye makeup from smudging? Start with the Eyebrows Darker eyebrows will stand out more prominently than fair-haired women with pale eyebrows. Prepare eyebrows by brushing them into place, removing any stray hairs with tweezers and trimming them into shape using cosmetic scissors if necessary and tidy them up even further. Use clear eyebrow gel or clear mascara instead of applying eyebrow pencil to eyebrows that can easily smudge. Keep Eyeshadow in Place Many brands of eyeshadow have a habit of coming off before the end of the day, and some will also disappear into the crease of your eyelids. If you are in the habit of regularly touching your eyes, eyeshadow will slip off. Switch eyeshadow brands if this happens to you and buy an eyeshadow primer. Apply the primer to help keep the eyeshadow in place longer without having to touch it up and try to remember not to touch your eyes. Prevent Mascara from Smudging Mascara is particularly prone to smudging, especially if your eyes water after chopping onions or even during vigorous exercise. An easy way to prevent mascara from smudging is to apply a thin layer of mascara to just your top eyelashes. Let the mascara dry and then apply a second coat if necessary. Or use clear mascara to accentuate your eyes without adding color that will noticeably smudge or run. Apply Waterproof Makeup Athletes and swimmers know the benefits of waterproof make-up, as they can continue with their sporting activities without interference. A good brand of waterproof eye makeup will help you to get through the day with confidence. But just remember to remove all traces of make-up by the end of the day. Otherwise, you will end up with clogged pores, and a spotty complexion when you wake up in the morning. Proper application techniques can help keep eye makeup in place for hours. Be gentle with your eyebrows and apply a clear eyebrow gel or clear mascara. Use a primer to keep eyeshadow in place and to prevent it from creasing. Apply mascara on the top of eyelashes. Waterproof make-up is recommended get on with your day-to-day activities without having to worry about touching up smudges.Use clear eyebrow gel or clear mascara instead of applying eyebrow pencil to eyebrows that can easily smudge. PEARL GRADING SYSTEMS

Beauty secrets for older womenHome » Shopping and Product Reviews » Collectible Jewelry Join Sign in EzineArticles - Expert Authors Sharing Their Best Original Articles Search Sharon Smith Expert Author | 29 Articles Joined: October 19, 2016 United States Pearl Grading Systems By Sharon Smith | Submitted On January 16, 2017 Recommend Article Article Comments Print Article Pearl jewelry base the grading system on that of the top pearl farms. Pearl grades range from E (lowest pearl-grade) to highest quality. Lowest grade jewelry from grade E to grade D are often processed into powders in order to make medicines or cosmetics products. The Powder contains dozens of minerals, including calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, strontium, copper, selenium, silicon, titanium, and more. This contains calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate, calcium phosphate, ferric oxide, and silica. High-quality powders offer great nutrition to skin, and it's often used in cosmetic products. Also, these are admired for its natural healing significance. This enhances the power of the moon, which signifies softness, love, family life, the steady mind, and many other good things. This helps in reducing discomforts during sleep, and help to solve problems such as throat trouble, eye trouble, dysentery... Seven factors determine the value of pearl: Size, Luster, Shape, Color, Surface, Match, and Nacre. Size: The bigger in size, the more valuable the pearl. With a diameter equal to 7mm or lower are called "BEADS" by farmers while a diameter higher than 8mm are called "GEMS". Surface: The quality of the surface is one of the most important factors that determine value. Based on perfectly round pearls, This grade means 100% of the surface is virtually flawless, grade means 98% of the surface is virtually flawless, and grade means 95% of the surface is virtually flawless. If this is not round, a surface that is 100% virtually flawless. Luster: This luster is the shine or glow of a pearl or the amount of light that is reflected on the surface of the pearl. Luster is the most important factor that determines the value of pearls. Shape: Perfectly round pearl are more valuable than those that are not. Most saltwater is round because they are nucleated by a shell bead. Most freshwater, except for Edison pearls, is not nucleated this way, and therefore, they are not always round. Color: The color of pearls can affect the value of the pearl. This depends on taste and scarcity. Natural colors include white, pink, peach, purple, creamy gold, gold, metallic, silver, gray, and black. Match: For strands of pearls, how perfectly the pearls match one another in shape, size, and color, affects the value of the jewelry piece. Nacre: Nacre thickness is a quality characteristic only applied to saltwater or Edison pearls, as they are bead-nucleated pearls. It is not applied to Keshi pearls or freshwater pearls as both are composed of solid nacre. Nacre thickness is the most important factor to consider when choosing saltwater or Edison pearls. It determines the durability and elasticity of a cultured pearl. Nacre thickness ranges from 0.1mm to over 2mm. Pearls with thin nacre lack depth in their color and luster and the nacre can wear away soon. For nacre thickness visualization, refer to the table below: Practical TIPS for choosing your best grade pearls: If the shape is perfectly round, the highest grade it can get is with a surface that is 100% clean and completely visually flawless. Pearls with this grading are extremely rare. The highest classification can get if their shape is not round. These are perfect in every other way: they have a high luster, their surface is visually clean and completely flawless. THE MANY BENEFITS OF BOTOX

Beauty secrets for older womenHome » Health and Fitness » Beauty Join Sign in EzineArticles - Expert Authors Sharing Their Best Original Articles Search Delia Focil Basic PLUS Author | 21 Articles Joined: March 21, 2016 United States The Many Ways You Could Benefit From Botox By Delia Focil | Submitted On October 25, 2016 Recommend Article Article Comments Print Article Botox has garnered a somewhat negative reputation over the years. Its overuse by celebrities and people in the media has left us wondering whether the procedure can do more harm than good to our bodies, but many people remain unaware of its multiple health benefits. Far from being a privilege reserved for the wealthy, this popular anti-aging treatment has become widely affordable within the beauty industry. Not only that, but it has been proven to carry many benefits to our overall health. Botox has been used to cut the look of lines and wrinkles for many years by preventing the muscles from contracting, making those pesky wrinkles relax and soften. But unbeknown to the public, it has a whole host of other uses too. Aside from shedding a few years off your appearance, it has also been licensed for the treatment of Chronic Migraines - so if you suffer from this condition, a simple injection could be the answer you've been hoping for. This works by interfering with the hormones that send pain signals to your nerve endings, reducing painful headaches by half and making them less likely to occur in the first place. So if you've tried every conventional approach to alleviating your migraines, a licensed medical spa could be the place to turn. Speak to your doctor for a proper referral if you're unsure where to get the procedure. The popular practice has also been shown to relieve symptoms of an overactive bladder. An overactive bladder can affect people from all walks of life, not just those of us who have had children or are of a certain age. The Botox injection helps to paralyse the muscles around the bladder, preventing them contracting quite so often. Botox has also been proven to reduce the pain of enlarged prostate in men who have the treatment, as well as a whole host of other ailments. Those who suffer from muscle spasms and disorders will greatly benefit from this treatment, as will those with excess sweating disorders. And of course, if you're looking to banish crow's feet or brow lines, this simple procedure can offer you that gentle lift that you need to tighten your skin. This is ideal if you're simply looking for a slight lift, as the procedure is non-invasive and won't require as much recovery time as a dramatic, appearance-altering surgery would. So, Botox may well have come off badly in the press over recent years, but it is actually one of the safest and most widely used scientific procedures. When undertaken properly by trained medical professionals, it can help patients suffering from a range of symptoms, as well as improving the quality of their skin and making them look younger. If you're looking to have a treatment, it's best to enquire via a licensed medical spa to make sure it is given properly, by fully trained experts. The downside to using Botox cosmetically means that it can be administered by anyone in the beauty industry, but it is best to go through a medically trained practice to make sure the most effective and safest results. Most good medical spas will use registered nurses to do their treatments. These experts will have a range of knowledge to help you cure your skin ailments, and will be able to offer you treatments for a variety of other issues, too. To set up an appointment, do some research into medical spas in your local area. You'll want to find a registered professional who'll offer you a proper consultation before you begin. Why not book yourself in for a weekend treat? You may leave feeling younger and healthier than ever before! Lux Medical Spa is Ventura County's number one provider of high-quality laser and cosmetic procedures. REASONS TO HAVE SEMI PERMANENT MAKE UP

Beauty secrets for older womenHome » Health and Fitness » Beauty Join Sign in EzineArticles - Expert Authors Sharing Their Best Original Articles Search Mags Whyler Platinum Quality Author Platinum Author | 63 Articles Joined: December 30, 2015 United Kingdom Reasons to Have Semi-Permanent Make-Up Treatment By Mags Whyler | Submitted On March 01, 2017 Recommend Article Article Comments Print Article Expert Author Mags Whyler Some people have semi-permanent make-up treatment to change or enhance their natural features, others find it the ideal choice if they have poor eyesight, have medical conditions such as alopecia or suffer with neurological weakness or tremors. Anyone finding it difficult to apply make-up evenly every day will benefit hugely. Lip liner - when we apply lip liner it makes them seem fuller, giving your lips definition and colour. Eyebrows - semi-permanent make-up can thicken, redefine or lengthen the look of your eyebrows. Eyeliner - gives a subtle lash enhancement or a definite line, making your eyes look bigger and wider. We can create many looks and styles, with all treatments tailored for each individual client. Every procedure takes into account the shape of your face, your style and your desired look. Depending on your skin type, sun exposure and lifestyle, semi-permanent make-up can last for many years, although over time the colour will fade, and we recommend a top every 18 months to keep the colour looking fresh. Some of the benefits of semi-permanent makeup: It saves time for busy mothers and professional women. Helps to improve the look of sparse, fair-haired or poorly shaped eyebrows. Stays on the face and looking good at the gym or the swimming pool. Helps those suffering with alopecia, or hair loss through medical problems. Gives you back lost shape and definition. It can help to achieve symmetrical eyebrows. It's ideal for those who are sensitive to make-up. People who suffer from poor eyesight or shaky hands. Ladies with unsymmetrical or uneven features. Treatment is skilfully designed and tailored to suit each persons needs. Semi-permanent make-up is safe and hygienic. Topical anaesthetic cream gets applied to deal with any minor discomfort, and then it's applied quickly and easily and is almost pain-free. For the first few days mild redness and swelling may occur, but you can go back to normal everyday activity directly after the treatment. After treatment It's very important not to touch or pick the treated area, as even clean hands can introduce dirt and germs onto the skin which can mean infection, and might create scar tissue. If you pick at the scabs it will take away the colour from the treated area, leaving a patchy final result. We can correct any patchy areas at a later appointment, however, if the scab gets picked and comes off too soon it will expose the skin and infection could occur. It's also advisable to keep the area completely dry for a couple of days after your treatment. Do you need help choosing a cosmetic procedure? HAIR LOSS COMMON CAUSES

Beauty secrets for older womenHome » Health and Fitness » Hair Loss Join Sign in EzineArticles - Expert Authors Sharing Their Best Original Articles Search Dr. Pran Rangan Platinum Quality Author Platinum Author | 23 Articles Joined: August 17, 2016 India Hair Loss And Its Common Causes By Dr. Pran Rangan | Submitted On March 02, 2017 Recommend Article Article Comments Print Article Expert Author Dr. Pran Rangan Hair is the second fast growing tissue in the body only after bone marrow. Hair grows about 1 to 1.5 cm every month. On average, the lifespan of a human hair is 2 to 7 years. Kids lose on average 90 hairs everyday, which rises to 120 by old age. Most people normally shed 50 to 100 hairs a day. This usually doesn't cause noticeable thinning of scalp hair because new hair is growing at the same time. The following are some of the common causes of hair loss: Heredity - It is the most common cause of hair loss and occurs gradually in a predictable pattern such as male pattern or female pattern baldness, which is receding hairline and baldness spots in men and thinning hair in women respectively. Heredity also affects the age at which one begins to lose hair, the rate of hair loss and the extent of baldness. Medical conditions - Hormonal changes - Hormonal changes and imbalances can cause temporary hair loss. Women frequently lose more hair two to three months after delivery due to the secretion of more estrogen hormone during pregnancy. Hormone levels are also affected by the thyroid gland, so thyroid problems may cause it. Scalp infections - An unhealthy scalp can cause inflammation, resulting in hair fall. Skin conditions that lead to hair loss include seborrheic dermatitis (dandruff), psoriasis, and fungal infections such as ringworm. Once infections are treated, hair generally grows back. Alopecia areata - Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disorder in which the immune system attacks hair follicles. It occurs equally in men and women. The cause is unknown, but it may be triggered by stress or illness. Iron deficiency anemia - This is one of important causes especially in those who don't eat iron rich food. Since red blood cells transport oxygen to cells throughout body, hair follicles are deprived of oxygen in people having anemia. Polycystic ovarian syndrome - The condition, which can begin as early as age 11, is caused by a hormonal imbalance in which the ovaries produce too many male hormones. Lupus - Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease in which the body's own immune system attacks healthy tissues including skin besides other parts of the body. It can cause hair loss. The condition affects about 1.5 million people and tends to strike women during their childbearing years. Lack of protein - If a person isn't get enough protein in diet, the body may ration protein by shutting down hair growth. So one shouldn't neglect the adequate intake of this essential macronutrient. Sudden weight loss - Sudden weight loss is a form of physical trauma that can result in thinning hair. Loss of hair along with noticeable weight loss may also be a sign of an eating disorder such as anorexia or bulimia. Medications - Hair loss can be caused by drugs used for cancer, arthritis, depression, heart problems, high blood pressure and birth control. Intake of too much vitamin A may cause it as well. Chemotherapy destroys rapidly dividing cancer cells but simultaneously it may also destroy rapidly dividing cells like hair. Other causes - Over styling - Vigorous styling and hair treatments over the years can cause hair to fall out. As these practices can actually affect the hair root, so hair might not grow back. Trichotillomania - Trichotillomania is an impulse control disorder, causing people to compulsively pull their hair out. It's sort of like a tic that the person is constantly playing and pulling their hair, which unfortunately can result in hair loss. Trichotillomania often begins before the age of 17 and is four times as common in women as in men. The condition requires specialized treatment. The bottom line - Hair loss is one of the commonest problems most of us have and, therefore, we run from pillar to post to find its treatment. Sometimes, we may be able to arrest hair loss if we come across a good expert but, many a time, we fail to control it. The above listed causes will give us a general understanding why hair loss takes place. And this may help us avoid things or medicines that initiate to cause hair loss. DIAMOND EARRINGS BASIC KNOWLEDGE

Beauty secrets for older womenHome » Shopping and Product Reviews » Jewelry Diamonds Join Sign in EzineArticles - Expert Authors Sharing Their Best Original Articles Search Satvik Mittal Basic PLUS Author | 669 Articles Joined: October 20, 2013 United Arab Emirates Diamond Earrings to Enjoy Sparkling Years By Satvik Mittal | Submitted On November 01, 2016 Recommend Article Article Comments Print Article Expert Author Satvik Mittal It is the dream of every girl and woman to be able to own a pair of diamond earrings that she can flaunt on her wedding day, or any special day or maybe every single day as we increasingly adopt the adage, every day is a special day. Today diamonds are easy to buy, thanks to online jewelry stores who have kept up with the changing times and claim to provide a shopping experience that is a genuine and attractive option to actually stepping out to buy. BASIC KNOWLEDGE ABOUT DIAMONDS There are 4 Cs associated with buying diamonds, cut, color, clarity and carat. Carat is the weight of the diamond. The diamond weight could be expressed as a fraction of a carat, as it is quite rare to find large stones. The cut is by far the most important feature, as it determines the sparkle of the diamond. Cut is all about how light enters the diamond, bounces off its various dimensions and leaves, leaving behind a trail of brilliance and fire (as the white and rainbow colors are referred to respectively). Color of diamonds - White is considered the purest of diamonds, but the color is difficult to distinguish when it has been set in metal. The Gemological Institute and the Gemological Society of America have standardized grading scales where the grade is set for each color. Clarity - Almost all diamonds have inclusions or some impurity that may be very difficult for even a trained grader to discern, or they may be such that they spoil the brilliance by losing the transparency of the diamond. The clarity grade is set by a competent grader while viewing the diamond under a ten power magnification. Buying diamonds and buying them online. It is easy to buy diamonds from your reputed jeweler. Maybe you could take along someone who has bought them before. When buying online, the highest rated gemological laboratory in the country has the following guidelines: 1.
